Just Another Gorgeous Day in Paris

The weather has been what I consider to be atypical for Paris, although I understand that September is usually a very nice month, weather-wise. But yesterday and again today there have been nothing but blue skies and sun. Temperature in the low 70s.

Last night, when I was on "gmail" a little box popped up, and it was Jed! He also has a gmail account, and he happened to be home waiting for his new sofa to be delivered. So we were able to chat for a few minutes. Very cool.

The last time I went to the supermarche, I finally found the right Muesli for breakfast, with lots of oats and no sugar added. It was way down at the bottom and over to the left of the main cereal display. It's the same price as the other but for 1000 g as opposed to 500 g.

It's been interesting to be without a disposal as it is almost second nature to put food waste down the drain. I've been hanging on to the little Activia pots and putting my coffee grounds, peach pits etc in those. Then I take them down to the big poubelles, hidden behind big blue doors on the rez de chaussee. There are three of them: one for glass, one for other recyclable objects (plastic, cardboard, paper) and one for everything else.

Spend morning on email, banking (paying e-bills online, such a convenience), writing, having cafe au lait, muesli with yogurt and blueberries, choosing outing for the day. Adrian calls.

Currency exchange rate today 1.386 (according to website http://www.xe.com/ ) I'm going to start keeping an eye on it.
