Sunday, April 20. Croissants for breakfast, comme d'habitude, at least when I have "houseguests." I don't buy them normally just for myself but have only cafe au lait and muesli.
Paul and I go to Bastille Market, where Paul inspects every thing at every booth in order to find the best deals going! We cover the entire market at least twice. I love looking in all the food stalls. I buy only some strawberries and another shopping bag (1 euro); I'm addicted to them (the bags, that is).
Back home, we pick up things for lunch at the boulangerie/patisserie downstairs. Paul has la fougasse aux champignons (and a Coke!). I have quiche aux 4 fromages. Then we settle down for a nap!
Later: We stock up on goodies from the patisserie for Paul to take back with him on the train to London. Stroll around the neighborhood and the Place Beaubourg. It's a lovely evening, weather-wise, not too cold.
L&T arrive about 9:30 p.m. We walk to dinner at l'Alivi. Here's the obligatory food run-down!
Lyn: U panzetta, Loup roti
Tyler: Foie gras aux figues, Veal with olives
Paul: Tarte aux herbes, Spirale du porc
Janet: Tianu d'artichaux, cabri
We share four desserts: La tentation de ______, creme caramel, moelloeux chocolate, and something I can't remember. Lots of red wine and white wine. Coffee and myrthe!
