Hangin' in the 'hood

Monday, October 29. We have only coffee for breakfast as we are planning to have an early lunch at the Grizzli Cafe before Lyn's car comes to take her to the airport.

First we go to FranPrix and G20 markets as I need milk and laundry detergent. LGW indulges in some spices and vanilla sticks as well as apples and raisins for the trip home. As we're lugging the groceries up the stairs, I ask Lyn if I can help carry some of her sh--. No, she says, you have your own sh--. Yeah, I reply, but I spread out my sh--. One thing I've definitely learned from living on the fourth floor (third floor in France) is to buy only a few things at a time!

It is raining but we decide to go wander in the neighborhood. We try to visit l'Eglise Saint Merri but it isn't open yet. Neither is the Atelier Brancusi. So we stop in a poster and postcard store until the little Quimper store opens at 11.

We have lunch at the Grizzli Cafe. Once again, Lyn has the maki d'aubergines, I have the veloute de cresson et croutons d'ail. Lyn has the Grizzli salad which includes, among many other things, pate de foie gras! I have the risotto avec brochette de lotte. Wonderful, wonderful. It is late so we have a quick coffee, stop by the bakery to pick up a pain au chocolat for Paulette, and home. The car arrives at about 1:45 and Lyn is off. It seems quiet without her! But I am so tired after our whirl-wind three days that I nap, work a little on my blog and read. An apple for dinner.
