Apartment #1 vis-a-vis Apartment #2

I now been here long enough to do a good comparison between the apartment I had last fall and the one I have now. So here goes . . .

A1: more spacious, higher ceilings, brighter, sunnier (of course, there actually was sun shining in the fall!), three huge windows, better location re Metro Line 1 (the major East-West line across town), great view out the windows (the little Proxi grocery store with its constantly changing display to say nothing of Notre Dame!).

A2 : cozier, lower ceilings but also has exposed beams like A1, more my style of furnishings (things that I would even consider putting in my house). a comfortable chair for reading. real beds (not sofa bed). much nicer kitchen: separate room with actual cupboards above and below, including dishwasher, enough space to have real coffee maker on the counter. in fact, there actually IS a counter in the kitchen which is a nice change. much nicer bathroom with real honest-to-god shower stall (no more shower curtain!), very nice fixtures, appointments. floors are tiled in bathroom and kitchen but lovely wooden floor in main room. very nice bed linens and towels. no view (interior courtyard about 20 ft square), but quiet.

On balance, A2 is a smaller but more nicely furnished apartment but location of A1 was fantastic (also view from windows). so there you have it.
