Water for Elephants

I have just finished this lovely book by Sara Gruen. It's an easy read but very well-researched in the wild world of the traveling circuses of the Great Depression. Rosie the Elephant is without a doubt my favorite character in the book, and you will cheer her on at every turn. Combines "outrageously whimsical premises with crowd-pleasing romanticism" (New York Times Book Review) and proves that one is never too old to run away with the circus.
